Whether you’re first-generation, formerly incarcerated, have a GED, experienced homelessness, food insecurity, are out of school or work, have an associate's degree, are undocumented, LGBTQIA+, or navigating any combination of these experiences—your perspective is exactly what the music industry needs.

  • What is the Playback Fellowship?

    A 10-week paid program for NYC youth (18-24) passionate about the business side of music. Not an artist program - we focus on marketing, A&R, digital strategy, and industry operations. You’ll get hands-on experience, mentorship, site visits, wellness support, and industry connections.

    This isn’t just a program. It’s your pipeline into the music industry.

    Who Can Apply?

    • Ages 18–24

    • NYC residents

    • No college degree needed

    • No music business experience required

    • Must commit to the full 10 weeks

    What’s the Time Commitment?

    • Summer 2025 (10 weeks)

    • 3 days/week

    • Daytime sessions

    • Occasional evening events

    • You must show up. Attendance is required

    Is It Paid?

    Yes! Fellows receive a stipend. (Amount shared during interviews.)

  • When Can I Apply?

    • Applications open: Week of April 14
      Deadline: Friday, May 16

    • Program runs: July–September 2025

  • Where does it take place?

    All NYC-based. Easily accessible by public transit.

    Do I Need My Own Laptop?

    Nope. We’ll provide what you need to get the work done.

    What About Travel?

    We got you. MetroCards or transit support is available.

    Is There a Dress Code?

    Come as you are, but be ready to show up professionally. We’ll guide you on what's expected at events or industry meetups.
